Douglas Robert Beck 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, April 28, 2008. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Douglas Robert Beck, 70, Wileville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 26, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Bridgewater on January 31, 1938, he was a son of the late Irving and Carrie (Crouse) Beck. He is survived by daughters, Karen (Peter) Tanner, Oakhill; Cindy (Allen) Hussey, Fancy Lake; sons, Ivan (Joanne), Wileville; Rodney, Lawrencetown; brother, Spencer (June), Wileville. He was "Gramps" to grandchildren, Mitchell and Josh Tanner, Ryan Beck, Amanda Bristol, and Morgan Hussey; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob; niece, Kathy; nephew, Chris and families. He is also survived by former wife and mother of his children, Jean Beck, Bridgewater. He will be missed by his constant companions, his dogs, Pooch, Shiloh, and Zoey. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Private family burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chelsea. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation or the charity of your choice.
