Ruth Alna White 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, August 23, 2005. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ruth Alna White, 94, Villa Saint Joseph, Dayton, Yarmouth County, and formerly of Deerfield, Yarmouth County, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2005. Born in Forbes Point, November 2, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Edward James and Eunice (Forbes) Nickerson. She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church and a Dominion Life member of the W.M.S. She was a member of the Women's Institute and she was a school teacher. She is survived by a son, Halden (Vera), South Ohio, Yarmouth County; daughter, Linda (Douglas) Kenney, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Heather, Marsha, Judy, Mark, Neil, and Shawn; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Jeffrey, Audrey (Bernard) Amiro, Sybil Nickerson, Mamie Forbes, and Barbara Scott; brother, James (Hilda) Nickerson. She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Ernest; sisters, Vivian Harding and Elsie Zwicker. The body is resting in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, where visiting hours will be 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 24, at 4 p.m. in Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church, reception to follow at the church. Burial will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
