Raymond A. Crouse 1996 Raymond A. Crouse, age 95, of Somerville, Maine, passed away January 20, 1996. Born April 28, 1900, in Farmington, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Austin and Martha (Corkum) Crouse. His wife, Harriett (Hattie)(Publicover) Crouse passed awaay in 1989. He is survived by sons, Melbourne and Lowell Crouse of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and Warren Crouse, Somerville, with whom he lived; brothers, Lowell, Brookfield, Massachusetts; and Herman, Farmington. He also leaves 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Another grandson, Clifford Crouse, a decorated was hero of the Vietnam Conflict, died in 1986. Mr. Crouse went to America in 1924 and was employed as a farmer and blacksmith by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 41 years, retiring in 1965. He returned to Crescent Beach, Nova Scotia in 1967 and farmed property there until 1986. He was well-known to the local farming and dairy community. Funeral service was from the Allen Funeral Home and burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, January 24, 1996.
