Edna Beatrice Symonds 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, July 22, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Edna Beatrice Symonds, 78, Upper Wood's Harbour, Shelburne County, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born June 23, 1925, in Wood's Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Venetia (Jeffrey) Chetwynd. She was a member of Wood's Harbour Wesleyan Church. She was very active on the entertainment committee for many years, a Sunday School teacher, and could always be counted on when there was work to be done around the church. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble and Skip-Bo. She is survived by Carolyn (Richard) MacAdams, Wood's Harbour; grandson, Tait; sisters, Helen Chetwynd, Annie (Charles) Symonds, Evelyn Scoville, Dorothy Cook, and Valetta "Letty" Muise; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; sisters, Norma, Elsie; brother, Sideny. Visitation 7:30-9 p.m. today, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in H. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Wood's Harbour Wesleyan Church, Rev. Steven Bean officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wood's Harbour. Donations may be made to Wood's Harbour Wesleyan Church or Canadian Cancer Society.
