    3. L.M. McNayr 1950 Bridgewater Bulletin Because of the illness of the regular Lake Pleasant correspondent, the death of Lambert M. McNayr, age 85, at his home at Lake Pleasant, on Monday, March 6, has not been reported in the Bulletin. Mr. McNayr, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McNayr, has for many years been a victim of diabetes. He will be remembered by his children as a kind father and by his neighbours as a man who was kind in times of sickness and affliction and by the public as a hospitable host. He was a farmer and a blacksmith until health failed. Mrs. McNayr, nee Della Durling, died seven years ago. Dead also are their elder son, Perry, of Springfield, Massachusetts and a daughter, Leila, Mrs. George McGregor, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Surviving are five daughters and a son, namely: Hope, Mrs. J. Dill of Lynn, Massachusetts; Myra, Mrs. E. Whynacht of Liverpool; Ora, Mrs. Charles Keating of Melrose, Massachusetts; Ruth, Mrs. Robert Freeman, of Purchase, New York; Jeanne, Mrs. Cyril Wentzell, of Maplewood; and Clyde of Springfield, Massachusetts. All of these except Mrs. Dill were at home at the time of the funeral. Many months ago Mrs. Wentzell and her husband came to live with the aged invalid and faithfully and patiently has Jeanne ministered to her father's needs, assisted at the last by her sisters and others. The flowers at the funeral on Thursday, March 9, were beautiful. Despite icy roads and prevalent flu, a goodly number attended the services which were conducted by Rev. Harold Telfer. Hymns sung by the choir were "Some Time We'll Understand," "Old Rugged Cross," "Rock of Ages," and "Sweet bye and Bye." Lake Pleasant News May,1939 Bridgewater Bulletin Mr. and Mrs. L. McNayr had the misfortune to lose their home and its contents by fire on Saturday afternoon, May 13.
