Morley Kempton Brown 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, October 31, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Morley Kempton Brown, 82, Grafton, Kings County, and formerly of New Ross, passed away October 29, 2003, in Evergreen Nursing Home, Kentville. Born in Forties, he was a son of the late Carey and Annie (Bezanson) Brown. He was a farmer and a labourer, self-taught blacksmith and veterinarian always ready to help his friends and neighbours whenever he could. He received an honourary award for his many years helping to organize the New Ross Community Fair. He enjoyed exhibitions, particularly the oxen and horses. He was a member of the Farmers Association and was a founder of the association many years ago. Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Balsor Misner; sons, Gary (Katherine), Oshawa; Aldrich (Ann), South Berwick; daughters, Ardythe (Robert) Arnold, Grafton; Eunice (Art) Patton, Woodville; Wilma (John) Hazlewood, Mount Uniacke; Wanda (Byron) Harding, Niagara Falls; brother, Ross (Marguerite) Brown, Aylesford; sister-in-law, Rolena; sisters, Gladys Hergette, Kingston; Norma (Glenn) Stoddard, Harmony; Evelyn Burgoyne, Kentville; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Russell; son Lawrence; daughter, Thelma; brothers, Mileage, Paul, and Clyde. No visitation by request. Funeral arrangements are enrusted to H. C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Kentville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Murray Shaw officiating. Interment in Black Rock Cemetery. Donations may be made to Evergreen Nursing Home or a charity of choice.
