UNKNOWN PAPER - CHARLES WILLIAM HIGGINS October 16, 1979. Malagash - Charles William HIGGINS, 89, of Malagash died Tuesday at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in West New Annan, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (CROWE) HIGGINS. He was a veteran of the First World War, serving in France for two years. He was an employee of the Malagash Salt Company for 35 years retiring in 1954. He was a member of Cumberland Lodge No. 417 IOOF Malagash, a member of Wallace Lodge No. 76 AF and AM, Cedar Chapter No. 3, OES, Richmond Star LOL No. 1521, Alexander MacIntosh Lodge No. 1275 RVP, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Tatamagouche, Branch No. 64. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Johnson MacINNES; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie SMITH, Mrs. Sadie MINGO, both of great village; three half-brothers, George HIGGINS, Russell HIGGINS and Everett HIGGINS, all of Saint John, N.B.; three step-sons, Jack MacINNES, St. Catharine's, Ont.; Donald MacINNES, North Bay, Ont.; Kenneth MacINNES, at home. He was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Trenton; David, New Annan; Malcolm, St. Thomas, Ont.; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. Leishman MacCALLUM); Maggie (Mrs. William DOUGLAS); and Mable (Mrs. Winsloe MAYO). The body is at Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Bay Head United Church, Donald NAIKIE officiating, assisted by the Rev. Harold HIGGINS of Amherst. Burial will be in the Bay Head Church Cemetery.
