Rogers, 84, Pleasant Lake, Yarmouth County, passed away December 16, 2003, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born November 9, 1919, in Brenton, Yarmouth County, she was a daughter of the late Albert "Burt" and Annie King. Hazel was a homemaker all her life and her family was her life. Surviving are her sons, Charles (Lynn) Rogers, Robert (Donna) Rogers, Pleasant Lake; daughters, Shirley (Richard) Worthington, Cape Breton; Sandra Hatfield, Chebogue; Darlene (George) Bromm, Yarmouth; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George N. Rogers; son-in-law, Richard E. Hatfield; grandson, Randy Rogers. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, both in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiating. Interment to follow in Highland Plains Cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
