OBIT # 9569 - UNKNOWN PAPER - 1962 TRURO - The last surviving member of what were believed to have been Canada's oldest twins, Mrs Ruth Archibald, died late Tuesday night in her 100th year.Her twin sister, Mrs Samuel Cox , died last May.The twins were born at New Annan, Colchester County, March 19, 1863, daughters of the late Daniel and Mahala (Munson) Graham. Their father was an uncle of the Nova Scotia giantess, Anna Swan. In 1887 the family moved to Eastville where each twin made her home until two years ago. Mrs Archibald married Rupert Archibald in 1889. He died in 1938. Survivors include one daughter Mrs Harry Bayers, Musquodoboit Harbour; A granddaughter, Mrs Scott Graham, Eastville, with whom she resided for the last four years, and two great-grandchildren. Two daughters died before her. The remains are resting at the Kennedy Memorial Residence. Funeral services will be held at the Springside United Church, Eastville on Friday at 2:30pm. Rev. Robert Anderson of St. James Presbyterian Church in Truro will conduct the service. Interment will be at Eastville cemetery.
