Born in Central Port Mouton, Liverpool, she was a daughter of Esther (Broome) Hartlen Allison and stepdaughter of Lester Allison, Shelburne and daughter of the late Bruce Hartlen. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Chester Basin and an avid worker at the church suppers. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; sons, Darrin, Canaan; Brian, Halifax; sister, Virginia (Melvin) Enslow, West Green Harbour; sisters-in-law, Lois Robar, Seffernville; Edith (Lionel) Armstrong, Windsor Road; brothers, Bruce Hartlen, Toronto; Horace (Marlene) Hartlen, Crescent Beach; brother-in-law, Austin (Lynn) Hatt, Marriott's Cove; many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, Rev. Michael Mitchell and Rev. Sean Taylor officiating. Burial in All Saints Cemetery, Canaan. In lieu of flowers, donations to All Saints Church, Canaan.
