James Perry Parnell 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, July 22, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie James "Perry" Parnell, 89, passed away Monday, July 21, 2003, at home. Born in Riverdale, Queens County, he was a son of the late Freeman and Lottie (Croft) Parnell. He served in the army during the Second World War. He was a self-employed carpenter and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and guiding. He is survived by daughters, Florence "Minnie" (Maurice) Wamboldt and Rhoda Thorburn, both of Liverpool; sons, Ronald (Judy), Middleton; Allan (Sandra), White Point; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; a great great grandson. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Harrington); son, Douglas; sister, Bernice; brothers, David and Gordon. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and the Royal Canadian Legion Mersey Branch 38 will have a service at 7 p.m. this evening in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, in St. James Anglican Church, Hunt's Point, Rev. Robert Coote officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Hunt's Point. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Hunt's Point.
