Elaine Marjorie Quinlan 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, August 12, 2006. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Elaine Marjorie Quinlan, 72, Clam Point, Shelburne County, died August 10, 2006 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Stoney Island, she was a daughter of the late Orville and Edna (Ross) Ross. She had been a member of Stoney Island United Baptist Church for 59 years. She was a past Noble Grand of Bay View Rebekah Lodge, No. 48. She worked in Ontario at a candy factory and moved back to Nova Scotia in 1956. She worked at Wilson's Shopping Centre, Cape Sable Island School and the Seawinds Restaurant as a janitor. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and church members. She is survied by son, Hubert (Carolyn), Berwick; daughters, Sheila Quinlan, Helena (George) Whitman, Clam Point; grandchildren, Wendy (Kevin) Roscoe, Curtis Ross, Karen Graham, Valentina Quinlan, Nathan Quinlan, Chasidy Smith; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Daniel, Tracey, Whitney, Ashley, Kenda, Kaymen, Vanessa; Sterling (Catherine), South Side; sisters, Isabel Towers, Sackville, New Brunswick; Maureen (Alton) Nickerson, Stoney Island; and Aubrey (Herbert) Smith, Swim's Point. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray; infant sons, Joseph, Millard; brother, James; sister, Susie Smith; and niece, Laurie. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in H. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Stoney Island United Baptist Church, Pastor Kevin Grant officiating. Burial will be in Atlantic Cemetery, Stoney Island. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
