Ethel May Veinotte 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Ethel May Veinotte, Bridgetwarer - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mom, Ethel May Veinotte of Bridgewater on August 16, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a short but courageous battle witth breast cancer. Born in North Sydney in 1933, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Bessie (Burchell) Bragg and Florence (Herald) Bragg. Ethel was a devoted "stay-at-home" mom, before working with Covey's Footwear and then joining NSLC in Bridgewater from where she retired in 1994. She was an active member of the Bridgewater United Church for 40 years and gave of herself tirelessly to her family and many friends. Ethel is survived by her children, Dawn (Brian) Mosher, Bedford; Todd, Bridgewater and her much-loved grandchildren, Jayne and Sophie. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Bragg; brothers, Wayne Bragg, North Sydney; William Bragg, Ontario, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Vincent "Pat" Veinotte; son, David and a son in infancy; sister, Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Kibyuk; brothers, James, George, Morgan, and Russell. At Mom's request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. A reception will follow the service in the CEC Centre. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater United Church or South Shore Health Palliative Care Services. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
