Ruth Evelyn Garber 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, August 6, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ruth Evelyn Garber, 80, Conquerall Mills, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2003, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Margaret (Stewart) Gates. She owned and operated the Stay-Curl Beauty Shop in Bridgewater until her retirement in 1985. Surviving are her daughter, Krista Garber and her husband, Sam Brushett, St. Augustine, Florida; niece, Lynne (Bob) Devine, Kentville; nephew, Allen Gates, Abbottsford, British Columbia; and many caring friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Perry Garber and brother, Walter Gates. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, there will be no visitation in the funeral home by request. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No flowers by request.
