He was born on Little Tancook Island. He was a lobster fisherman and a long-time seasonal employee at Karl Karlsen Seal and Whale Factory, New Harbour. Herby is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Margaret Levy; sons, David (Barbara),Blandford; Clark (Helen), Coleman's Cove; Clarence (Jane), Western Shore; Lester (Debbie), Ontario; Elmer (Carol), Little Tancook; daughters, Pauline (Marshall) Stevens, First South; Marie (George Cooper), Lunenburg; Sheila (Allen) Cook, Middle River, Chester Basin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sons, Lawrence and Earl predeceased him. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in Faith Baptist Chapel, Centre, Bridgewater Road, Pastor Chris Emery and Rev. Dan Green officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Family flowers only.
