Murray A. Romkey 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Murray A. Romkey, 86, Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2007, in the manor. Born October 4, 1920, in Blue Rocks, he was a son of the late Johnson St.Clair and Gladys Louise (Knickle) Romkey. Murray was a veteran of the Second World War. He enjoyed a good game of cards with his friends at Ocean View Manor and visiting and walking around the Public Gardens. Murray is survived by daughters, Judy (Les) Hodgson, Kemptville, Ontario; Paule (John) Turanchik, Ottawa; son, Richard (Sue), Ottawa; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Merrill (Shirley), Blue Rocks; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Purdita (Silver); sister, Doris May. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth, where Murray's family will receive friends from 12-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Flowers welcome or a donation in Murray's memory to Ocean View Manor Foundation would be appreciated.
