Doris Belle Whitehouse 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Sunday, May 22, 2005. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Doris Belle Whitehouse, 82, Brazil Lake, Yarmouth County, died May 21, 2005, in Tidal View Manor. Born in Carleton, Yarmouth County, on February 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Nickerson and Ida Mae Harding. She was a member of the Brazil Lake Wesleyan Church, taught Sunday School, was a member of the church choir, and taught at Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Brazil Lake Women's Institute for over 50 years. She is survived by her son, Eric (Elaine) Whitehouse, Brazil Lake; brothers, Lendell (Bernadine), Carleton; Laurel (Genevieve) South Dakota; Alton (Norma), Forest Glen; sisters, Edith Allen, Pleasant Valley; Laurene (Bob) Stewart, St. Albert, Alberta; grandchildren, Joy (Troy) Carruthers, Kevin (Tammie) Whitehouse; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon and sister, Arlene. Remains are resting in Sweeny's Funeral Home for visitation from 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service in Brazil Lake Wesleyan Church on Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. Reg Thomas officiating, assisted by Rev. Karl Gorman. Interment in Brazil Lake Wesleyan Cemetery. Family flowers only.
