Vivian Kathleen Stevens 2009 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Vivian Kathleen Stevens, 89, of Martin's Brook, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Martin's Point, she was a daughter of the late Venning and Daisy (Sawler) Rafuse. Vivian was a tireless worker for the family farm and was very proud of her entrepreneurial spirit in running the farm. She was a member of Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church, Mahone Bay and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her love of life, family, friends, and the community at large were so important to her. Vivian's quiet courage, strength of spirit, and sense of humour will be carried forward by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by sons, Royal (Karen) Stevens and Stewart Stevens, both of Martin's Brook; daughter-in-law, Doris Stevens, Clearland; grandchildren, Graham (Valerie), Shelley (Eric), Barry (Mary), Jeffrey, Holly (Karl), Sara (David), Matthew; great-grandchildren, Shawn, James, Alexander, Noah, Olivia, Nicholas, and Shauday. Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Spencer; sons, Donald, Ronald; brother, John; twin sisters, Leslie, Margaret, and grandson, Jonathan. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg and where visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Vivian's life will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church, Mahone bay, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Interment will be in Pentecostal Cemetery, Western Shore. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church, Jonathan Stevens Fund or any charity.
