Earl Lester MacKay 1974 Bridgewater Bulletin Earl Lester MacKay of Charleston, formerly of New Canada, died Friday, November 1, 1974, in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. Born in New Canada, May 18, 1906, he was the son of the late Sylvanus and Cecelia (Frank) MacKay. Besides his wife, Grace, he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Gerald Martel), Dayton, Ohio; two stepsons, John Anthony of Charleston and Philip Anthony of Bridgewater; a brother, Calvin of Jamaica Plains and a sister, Pearl (Mrs. John Conrad) of New Canada. Funeral service was held Monday, November 4th., from New Canada Baptist Church. Rev. Carroll Armstrong of the Milton-Port Medway and Charleston Pastorate officiated. The organist was Mrs. Harris Cook, New Canada with combined choirs from New Canada and Charleston Baptist Churches. Burial was in New Canada Cemetery.
