Lawson A. Wile 1935 Bridgewater Bulletin The death of Lawson A. Wile, of Hemford, occurred at the Victoria General Hospital, on Monday, June 3rd. Mr. Wile was the son of Mrs. Alice Wile and the late Austin Wile and was born at Hemford forty-four years ago. His entire life was spent at Hemford, where he held the respect of all who knew him. For the past eighteen years, Mr. Wile held the position of postmaster and many were his acts of kindness during that period. He was a valued member of Primrose Lodge, No. 97, and of Willow Rebekah Lodge, No. 117 and took a keen interest in these lodges up until the time of his death. Mr. Wile is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Idella Eisnor of Stanburne; four sons, Claude, Oscar, Ellis, and Roscoe, all at home; and by four daughters, Misses Lillian, Iris, Verna, and Mildred, all at home and by three brothers, Robert of Hemford; Guilford and Leonard of Timmins. The funeral on Wednesday morning was conducted by Rev. Victor Monk who spoke from the text"Watch and Pray." Hymns sung were "My Faith Looks up to Thee," "Rock of Ages," "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and "Face to Face." The service at the grave was conducted by members of the Oddfellows and Rebekah lodges, both of whom marched in a body. The pall bearers were Brother Oddfellows: Carl Hart, Percy Colp, Howard Silver, and Dennis Silver. The floral offerings were numerous and were carried by Sister Rebekahs, Misses Glenna Veinot, Marguerite Veinot, Jean Silver, and Mrs. Ivan Woodowrh.
