Harry Alexander Veinot 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Harry Alexander "Alex" Veinot, 73, Pereau, Kings County, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2007, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Lake Pleasant, he was a son of the late Bertram and Alma (Emeneau) Veinot. He was initally employed with Nova scotia Power in Nictaux and then worked for the poultry division of Archibald Farms Limited for 26 years, retiring in 1980, due to ill health. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Dorothy Stoddart; daughters, Diane (David) Fuller, Blomidon; Gail (Lenny) Barkhouse, Scott's Bay Road; Patricia (Wendell) Brewster, Centreville; son, Ivan (Doreen), Inglisville; grandson raised by Alex and Dorothy, Chris (Jasmina), Halifax; nine additional grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by sisters,Winnifred Whynott and Doris Veinot; brothers, Bertram, Frank, and Reginald; grandsons, Tyler and Ryan. Visitation will be held from 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, Rev. Derek Langille officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Pereau Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses.
