John Edward Murphy 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, July 17, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie John Edward Murphy, 50, Northwest Cove, died July 14, 2000, at home. Born in Fairview, he was a son of the late James Joseph "Spike" and Catherine Gertrude (Harnish) Murphy. He worked for many years with Moulton Plumbing and Heating, Halifax. The last few years he had been working on the pipelines in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. A member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local 56, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his ATV. He was also in the process of learning to fly ultra light aircraft. Surviving are his wife, the former Sharon Dorey; brother, Clifford, New Brunswick; sister, Thelma Hamood, Fairview; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Ronald "Turk;" nieces, Heather Ann Hamood, Chirise-Lynn Hamood. Cremation has taken place. Memorial seervice 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hubbards.
