Lloyd Franklin Perry 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, April 5, 2004. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Lloyd Franklin Perry, 86, Port Clyde, Shelburne County, died April 3, 2004, in Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born at Cape Negro Island, he was a son of the late Franklin and Sadie (Myrick) Perry. He was a veteran of the Second World War and member of the Port Clyde United Church where he was trustee. He was a member of the Leisure Hour Senior Citizens Club, Port Saxon, member of Branch No. 148, Royal Canadian Legion where he was proud to take part in the Poppy Campaign. He was a former lighthouse keeper at Half Moons (Salvages), past member of the Port Clyde Fire Department and was a fisherman and an avid duck hunter; he also loved painting and crafts. He was a caring husband of Amelia (Flemming), also surviving are son, Franklin, Yarmouth; stepson, Barry (Donna) Crowell, Gunning Cove; stepdaughters, Joy (Wayne) Thorburne, Bridgewater; Karen (Mario) Doucette, Hull, Quebec; Kathie MacDonnell, Bridgewater; sister, Ina Haase, Chester; eight step grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Gertrude Nickerson; brother, Leland; sisters, Gladys Strang and Bernice Cross. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in H. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Pastor Cindy Dunnett and Rev. Gordon Simons officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Cape Negro. Family flowers only.
