Benham, 62, East Green Harbour, passed away peacefully October 12, 2003, in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point, with his wife and children and immediate family by his side. He was a son of the late Edwin Sr. and Gladys (Stephens) Benham. Left to mourn are his wife, Thelma V. (Burgess); daughter, Sheila Oickle (Ronald), Liverpool and granddaughter,Rose Anne Marie; son, Charles Jr. (Laura), Halifax and granddaughter, Emily and grandson, Robert; brother, William (Janice); sisters, Catherine and Annastachia (Ronnie), all of East Green Harbour; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Edwin Jr. and Francis; sister, Elizabeth. Cremation has taken place. No visiting by request. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Lockeport, Rev. Sandra Fyfe officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery, East Green Harbour. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch.
