Jean Lizzett Corkum 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, October 27, 2008. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Jean Lizzett Corkum, 83, Chester Basin, died suddenly on Friday, October 24, 2008, at home. Born in Chester Basin, she was a daughter of Angus and Sadie (Corkum) Hiltz. Jean was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her. Jean is survived by her daughters, Peggy (David) Zinck, Antigonish; Joan (Gordon) Sinclair, Scarborough; sisters, Winnifred Evans, Shoreham Village Home, Chester; Noreen Meldrum, Windsor Road; grandchildren, Natasha Daley, Leanne Zinck, Devin Zinck, Jennifer Sinclair, and Mark Sinclair; great-grandchildren, Cohen and Ainslee Pictou and Ethan Daley. She was predeceased by her husband, Lennox; brothers, Frank, Sidney, Rufus, and Art; sisters, Cynthia, Pauline, and Gracie. Respecting Jean's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service and interment will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Chester Basin with Rev. Linda MacDonald officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Anglican Church or Aenon Baptist Church, Chester Basin.
