Inspector Robert Alfred Penney 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, April 30, 2005. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Inspector Robert Penney (Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police), passed away peacefully after a short illness at his residence in St. John's, Newfoundland, on Sunday April 24, 2005, aged 69 years. He was predeceased by his father, Donald V. Penney and his mother, Esther B. Penney, Caledonia. Left to mourn are his loving wife, Dianne (Bovard); his daughters, Robyn Schwedtfeger (Tony), Bethany Crocker (Dustin); beautiful grandchildren, Katie, T.J., and Jessica. Also left to mourn are five brothers and one sister, William (Lila), Gordon (Geraldine), Kingston, Ontario; Jack(Alicia), Glenwood (Betty), Bridgewater; Eugene, Caledonia; Dorothy Lutes (Rev. David), Truro; mother-in-law, Meda Steinbrink; brothers-in-law, Eric Bovard (Shelley); Dr. Harold Wight (Trixie); nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. At Robert's request, cremation has taken place. The family received visitors in Carnell's Funeral Home, St. John's. Funeral took place in St. James United Church on Thursday, April 28, at 11a.m. Interment followed in General Protestant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Caledonia United Church Memorial Fund, Caledonia.
