Born in South Side, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude (Nickerson) Penney. She is survived by brother, Milton (Margaret), Lower Clark's Harbour; sister, Arlene Atwood, South Side. She was predeceased by her first husband, Marshall Ross; second husband, James Nickerson; brother, Freeman; sisters, Juanita and Gladys. Visitation was held Saturday in H. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Stoney Island United Baptist Church, Rev. Robie Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Atlantic Cemetery, Stoney Island. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
