Everette Clinton Lohnes 2010 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, March 20, 2010. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Everette Clinton Lohnes, 87, of West LaHave, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in West LaHave, he was a son of the late Josiah and Lillian (Corkum) Lohnes and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Everette was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Merchant Navy. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (David) Robar, Halifax; Diann (Wayne) Robar, Halifax; sons, Gary (Susan), Pentz; Brian (Andrea), West LaHave; Ronald, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Catherine, Christopher, Ryan, Kyle, Hannah, Kasey, and Campbell, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Meisner). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to C.F. Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service by request. A private family burial will be at a later date. A gathering of family and friends for a time of remembrance was held 2-4 p.m. Thursday, March 18, in the home of Brian and Andrea Lohnes, West LaHave. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church, West LaHave, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the charity of choice.
