Gregory Michael Kehoe 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, May 6, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Gregory Michael Kehoe, 53, Middlewood, passed away May 4, 2003, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Born May 20, 1949, in Bridgewater, he was the beloved son of Myrtle (Sarty) Kehoe, Middlewood and the late Donald Kehoe. He was employed with Off Shore Recruiting Services at the time of his illness. His friendship became very special with Anglican clergy, Father Gary Alcock and it gave him great comfort during his long illness. He will be greatly missed by his special friend, Ubu. The loving care from nursing staff of the palliative care unit, as well as Dr. Abriel's help and support, made his stay in the hospital the best it could be. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Georgia, Bedford; his son, Don, Mahone Bay; sisters, Patricia (Charles) Sweeny, Green Bay; Donna (Gary) Jollimore, Hunt's Point; lady friend, Verlene Himmelman; two nephews and two nieces. A public graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in Middlewood United Church Cemetery, Middlewood, Father Gary Alcock officiating. A reception will follow in Middlewood United Church Hall. There will be no visitation in the funeral home by request. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, South Shore Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Bridgewater, Lunenburg County Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of your choice.
