Learns of Death in West 1935 Mrs. Isaac (Matilda) Knox, New Germany, has received word of the drowning on July 16th., at Elert Bay, British Columbia, of her oldest son, Edward, with four companions. Details of the accident are meagre but it is known that Mr. Knox was engaged in running a motor-boat for the tourist trade in that town. Born in New Germany 61 years ago, Mr. Knox went to British Columbia 31 years ago, where he has since resided. In a recent letter to his aged mother he extended a pressing invitation for her to visit him in his western home and stated that if she was unable to come to British Columbia he would bring his family to see her in New Germnay in the near future. The mother, then looking forward to seeing her son from whom she had been parted for so many years, is prostrated by news of his sudden passing. It is the second son she has lost by drowning; a brother, William, having met a similar death 42 years ago while swimming in Miller's Eddy. Besides his mother, Mr. Knox is survived by a wife and four children in Elert Bay and by two brothers, Isaac in Roslindale, Massachusetts and Gordon, who resides with his mother in New Germany.
