Nellie Eliza Amelia Vaughan 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, January 22, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Nellie Eliza Amelia Vaughan, 92, Western Shore, died January 20, 2003 in her home. Born December 23, 1910, in Western Shore, she was a daughter of the late George and Bessie (Swinimar) Sawler. She loved life, her home, gardening, and playing cards. She always had time for a chat and a laugh with her many friends. A very caring person, she always thought of others before herself. She was a devoted member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martin's Point. She will be missed by her sister, Jean Sawler, Lunenburg; brothers, Lorraine Sawler and his wife Frances, Western Shore; Webster Sawler, Burnaby, British Columbia; niece, Grace Sawler, Lunenburg, who cared for her during the past several years; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; sisters, Hazel and Clara; brothers, Harding, William, Linwood, Harold, Perlie, Clyde, and Percy; an infant brother. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. this evening in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martin's Point, Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Burial will be in Western Shore Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Anglican Church or Western Shore Baptist Church.
