Reginald Baldwin Rimmer 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald Reginald Baldwin Rimmer, 86, New Germany, passed away June 30, 2007, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Mara, British Columbia, he was a son of the late Emily (Bretherton) and William Rimmer. Reginald was a veteran of both the Second World War and the Korean War. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, New Germany, Branch No. 102 and a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, the highest honour of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Gail (Roland) Pilote, Rimbey, Alberta; stepdaughter, Rosalie (Terry) Weir, Canberra, Australia; son, Ron (Corinne), Orillia, Ontario; sister, Edith "Toots" (Dave) Young, High River, Alberta; brother, Jack Rimmer, Bakersfield, California; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Robar) and brothers, David and Clarence "Bud." A public Legion Tribute will be held at 6:45 p.m. prior to the visitation which will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 , in Sweeny's Funeral Home, New Germany, with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, in Epworth United Church, New Germnay, Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Interment to follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, North River. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Reginald's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund of New Germany Branch No. 102.
