Jennie May Blades 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, November 15, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Jennie May Blades, 106, Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, formerly of Jordan Falls, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2003, in Surf Lodge. Born in Jordan Falls, on May 30, 1897, she was a daughter of the late Captain William H. and Hephzibath (Mullens) Turner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Jordan Falls. She is survived by son, Hobart (Louisa) Blades, Jordan Branch; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one stepgrandchild. She was predeceased by son, William Blades; daughter, Evelyn Kennedy; brothers, William and Harry; sister, Flora White. No flowers by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne, Rev. Sandra Fyfe officiating. Burial will be in Newellton Cemetery. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Jordan Falls or Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport.
