Francis Joseph Underwood 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, August 6, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Francis Joseph Underwood, 84, Windsor, beloved father of five, passed away peacefully August 2, 2003, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Lower Kingsburg, he was a son of the late Charles and Maude (Deal) Underwood. He was a generous man with a warm heart. Surviving are children, Anne Marie (William) Banfield, Dartmouth; Charles (Faye) Underwood, Middle Musquodoboit; James (Judy) Underwood, Lower Sackville; Cecil (Elizabeth) Underwood, Winnipeg; brother, Harold (Beatrice) Underwood, Halifax; sister, Gertrude (Eric) Larson, St. Margaret's Bay; grandchildren, Robert Jacobs, Joseph and Mary-Lynn Banfield, Matthew, Pamela, and Nicole Underwood. He was predeceased by daughter, Bernadette Jacobs; brothers, Leo, Joseph, and Charles; sister, Mary Underwood. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 7, in Calvary Tabernacle, Halifax, the Rev. John D. Mean officiating. Burial to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made to Dykeland Lodge, Windsor.
