Gretchen Elizabeth Fell 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, May 25, 2005. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Gretchen Elizabeth Fell, 69, Middle LaHave, and formerly of Toronto, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Middle LaHave, she was a daughter of Audrey (Crouse) Bailey of Middle LaHave and the late Cedric Bailey. A devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, Gretchen's wealth was her family and friends. She lived all over Canada, always reeturning to her beloved Middle LaHave, now her final place of rest. A keen conversationalist with sincere interest in others, Gretchen made lasting friendships throughout her life and her passing will be mourned by many near and far. Gretchen was a great cook and a gifted needle worker. Her meals brought people together and her fine needlework adorns the walls of family and friends. Gretchen understood the meaning of true love as symbolized by her 50 years love affair with her husband, Ron. Her spirit lives on and comforts those who loved her so much. Gretchen is survived by her husband, Ronald; son, Gary and his wife Sandra, Thamesford, Ontario; daughter, Karen Fell and her husband, Hugh Robinson, Milton, Ontario; sisters, Jacqueline (Lloyd) Burns, Lower Sackville; Marilyn (Douglas) Oickle, Bridgewater; Diane (David) Leary, Middle LaHave; brothers, Bruce (Lucy) Bailey, Dayspring; David (Arlene) Bailey, Pleasantville; Charles (Barbara) Bailey, Upper Tantallon; grandchildren, Adam, Sara, Daniel, Caitlin, and Liam. She was predeceased by her father, Cedric and her special aunt, Jean Richards. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with visitation Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in St. John's United Church, Middle LaHave Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment will be in Middle LaHave Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, Red Cross, or any other charity.
