William Jacob Romkey 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, May 30, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie William Jacob Romkey, 86, West LaHave, passed away May 28, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Crescent Beach, he was a son of the late Jacob and Maude (Kenyon) Romkey. He is survived by his wife, the former Goldie Publicover; daughter, Carole (Douglas) Bolivar, West LaHave; son, William Jr. (Jean) Romkey, Dartmouth; sister, Helen Himmelman, Petite Riviere; grandchildren, Julie Romkey, Dartmouth; Tanya Romkey, Red Deer; Trevor (Jennifer) Romkey, West LaHave; Neil Bolivar, Halifax; Blair Bolivar, West LaHave. He was predeceased by sister, Florence Romkey; daughter, Golda in infancy. There will be no visitation in the funeral home by request. There will be a private family graveside service in the Romkey Cemetery, Crescent Beach. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to the charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
