Albert David Stoddard 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, June 12, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Albert David "Hummy" Stoddard, 77, Bear Point, Shelburne County, died June 9. 2000, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Bear Point, he was a son of the late Albert and Ida (Atwood) Stoddard. He served overseas in the Second World War from 1943 to 1946 with the Corp of Engineers. He was a dedicated fisherman for 43 years and a loyal Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Goldie Wickens; sons, Timothy (Joy), Bear Point; John (Angela), Wood's Harbour; granddaughters, Melissa, Christina; sister, Dorothy Nickerson, Wood's Harbour. He was predeceased by sisters, Janet, Evelyn, Helen, and Lillian. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bear Point United Baptist Church, Rev. Edwin Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Birch Hill Cemetery, Bear Point. Legion tribute service will be 6 p.m. today in H. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Bear Point United Baptist Church, Birch Hill Cemetery or any charity.
