Donald Cook, 84, 49 Kempt Street, Yarmouth, died November 26, 2000, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Frederick and Mae "Mary" (Langthorne) Cook. He was a janitor at South Centennial School since 1955 until his retirement. The students there were a constant joy to him. He was a member of Temple United Baptist Church, Yarmouth and was also a member of the Senior Men's Club of Yarmouth Boys and Girls Clubs. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Surrette; daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Roderick MacDonald), Hampton, New Brunswick; brother, Ken, Aylmer, Quebec; sister, Dorothy Ryerson, Yarmouth; grandsons, Andrew and Mark. He was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm; grandson, Micheil. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, all in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Branch of the VON. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
