Franklyn Arthur Strum 2002 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, December 20, 2002. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Franklyn Arthur Strum, 84, Oakland, died following a brief illness, December 18 ,2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late John and Muriel (Ernst) Strum. For the past 18 months, he had resided in Happy Haven, Petite Riviere. He was a lifetime member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, where he had served in several capacities. During his earlier years he worked at Smith and Rhuland Shipyard, Lunenburg and later as a carpenter. His pastime for many years was bee keeping and honey production. He was a past president and member of the board of directors of Bayview Cemetery, Mahone Bay. Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Blanch (Rhuland); brothers, Roger and Paul. Visiting will be this evening 7-9 p.m. in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Robert Brush officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
