Freeman H. Lohnes 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Freeman H. Lohnes, 63, Port Medway, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 7, 2007. Born in East Berlin, he was a son of the late Henry and Alice (Whynot) Lohnes. Freeman was a fisherman all his life and loved to hunt and sport fish. He loved Newfoundland and enjoyed vacationing there. He was an avid dart player and loved playing poker with the "boys." He is survived by his companion, Teresa Smiley; daughter, Sherri Boudreau (Tim Wile), Conquerall Mills; son, Randy, Port Medway; stepdaughter, Stacy Smart, Halifax; and stepson, Tyler Smart, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Kristin, Jenna, and Andrew; sister, Violet (Ernie) Rhyno, Charleston; brothers, Lambert and Raymond, both of Ragged Harbour; and Bobby (Brenda), West Berlin. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Ann, and sister, Lalia. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be Wednesday, January 10, at 2 p.m., both in Chandlers' Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, Rev. Arthur Nash officiating. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Anglican Cemetery, Port Medway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
