Myrtle Grace Myalls 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, May 9, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Myrtle Grace Myalls, 90, Lunenburg, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in Jersey Harbour, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (White) Grandy. Over the years, Myrtle operated a general store in Halifax and cared for children in her own home, while spending much time raising her family. She was a very skilled seamstress and created many beautiful clothes for family and friends. She enjoyed making handiwork, while sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Myrtle was a member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Middle LaHave and while living in Lunenburg attended St. John's Anglican Church. She is survived by her son, Lloyd and his wife Jane Myalls, First South; daughter-in-law, Lillian Myalls, Lunenburg; grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda), Crystal-Anne, Anna (Gerald McAuley), Walter (Kathryn), Joseph (Shelly), Basil (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Angela, Mikaela, Dylan, Jeremy, Brandon, Jessie, Kelsey; brother, Basil (Loretta) Grandy, Bridgewater; sister, Fannie Mayo, Lunenburg; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; son, Albert; sister, Josephine; brother, Lloyd. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with visiting 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Dr. Gregory Pritchard officiating. Interment will be in Shepherd's Hill Cemetery, Riverport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, St. John's Anglican Church Restoration Fund or any charity.
