James Churchill Tufts 1988 Halifax Chronicle Herald Handwritten date: June 15, 1988. James Churchill Tufts, 76, North Williamson, died Wednesday in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Simpson's Corner, he was a son of the late Dimock and Mary (O'Hara) Tufts. He was retired from the Department of Highways. He is survived by his wife, the former Elsie (Cross); three daughters, Ruby (Mrs. Ronald Shea), London, Ontario; Rene Tufts, Yarmouth; Rose (Mrs. Brian Keddy), Camperdown; three sons, Roger and Randolph, both of Lawrencetown; Lincoln, Mt. Hanley; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Veinot, Stanley Section; Mrs. Cynthia Smith, Simpson's Corner; and Mamie; a brother, Ernest, Simpson's Corner; ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Ronald and Russell; two brothers, Wilson and George; a sister, Freelove. The body is in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations may be made to any charity.
