Born in LaHave Islands, he was a son of the late Charles William and Mary Jane (Walfield) Hirtle. He is survived by children, David (Susan), Bush Island; Joyce (Vernon) Baker, Bell's Island; Beatrice (David) Lohnes, Cookville; Molly, Dublin Shore; Fred (Valerie), Pleasantville; Marion (Bayne) Sperry, Mount Pleasant; Robert (Carla), Dublin Shore; grandchildren, Gail, Scott, Judy, Darren, Stephanie, Chad, Chris, Laura, Danica; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Damin, Dimitre, Emma, Hanna, Jenna; sister, Verna Himmelman, Rhodes Corner. He was predeceased by his wife, Daisy (Walfield); son, Gary Otto; grandson, John; several brothers and sisters. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin. Family flowers only.
