Mrs. M. Fletcher Kendrick 1955 Bridgewater Bulletin Springfield- Tidings reached here January 10th., of the death on January 1st., of Mary Fletcher Kendrick, 76, at her home at Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Fletcher Kendrick, well-known historian and writer, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Fletcher (nee Selina McNayr), of Falkland Ridge, Annapolis County. In addition to her literary pursuits, she taught in public schools in Nova Scotia, western Canada, and the United States. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. E.A. Gardner, of St. Petersburg, Florida. Predeceasing Mrs. Kendrick were a brother, Fred; and a sister, Elzina (Mrs. Robert Swallow), both of Falkland Ridge; also two sisters in the United States, Ethel (Mrs. Charles Leonard), Boston and Ellen (Mrs. Richard R. Beamish), authoress, of Los Angeles. Funeral services were held and burial took place in California. ( One of her historical works was "Down the Road to Yesteryear," a history of Springfield and area. )
