Stanley William Doane 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, October 12, 2001. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Stanley William Doane, 87, Lake Annis Road, Brazil Lake, Yarmouth County, died October 10, 2001, at home. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Harvey and Bessie (Adams) Doane. He was a lighthouse keeper at the Yarmouth Light and worked for many years for the Beacon Lighthouse. He grew up at Bug Light and was a lobster fisherman, lobster pot builder, and a resident of Cape Forchu. Surviving are his wife, Della; son, Harvey, Sackville; four grandchildren; five stepggrandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Harry; sisters, Ruby, Dorothy. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. Karl Gorman officiating. Burial at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
