Pearl Dauphinee 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Pearl Dauphinee, 92, Halifax, formerly of Tantallon, passed away Tuesday May 8, 2007, in Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Lower LaHave, Pearl was a daughter of the late John and Lillian Eisenhauer. After graduating from the Nova Scotia Teachers College, Pearl accepted a post in a one-room schoolhouse in Tantallon where she met and married Robert Dauphinee (now deceased). She taught in the Tantallon area until her retirement, by which time she had taught over 75 percent of the children and adults then residing in the community. Surviving are her son, Hugh Dauphinee and wife Doreen, Halifax; son, Robert Dauphinee Jr. and wife Patricia, Lunenburg; daughter, Sharon Jones and husband Burnley, Halifax; son, Neil Dauphinee, Tantallon; brothers, Cecil Eisenhauer, United States; Harry Eisenhauer, Alberta; Irvin Eisenhauer, Ontario. Pearl loved and was much loved by her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert H. Dauphinee Sr., sister, Hazel Weagle; brothers, Bruce, Royce, Grant, and James Eisenhauer. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax, Rev. Nancy Ritchie to officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Interment of ashes to take place at a private service at a later date.
