Edward John Harding 2006 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Edward John "Ed" Harding, 61, Chester, died December 15, 2006, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in St. John's, Ed was the only son of the late Edward and Bridget (George) Harding. Ed was a radar tech in the Royal Canadian Navy, a life member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 44, Chester. After his retirement he spent his time driving the school bus for South Shore Regional; being president of East Chester Recreation, running their bingos and truly enjoyed playing crib. Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Baroni); sons, Sean (Christeena), Chester; Scott (Gina), Hammonds Plains; and his pride and joy, granddaughter, Skylar; sisters, Mary Walker, Dartmouth; Joann (Harold) Fowler, St. John's; and Cecelia (Graham) Dawe, CBS, Newfoundland. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, in Chester United Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Green officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview Cemetery, Chester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester.
