Owen Fenwick Ritcey 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Owen Fenwick Ritcey, 79, Bayport, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Riverport, he was a son of the late Fred Henry and Leone (Conrad) Ritcey. Owen was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Rose Bay, who enjoyed music and sang in the church choir and in Zion Lutheran Church Male Choir, Lunenburg. He worked as a representative for Fuller Brush Products for many years. He belonged to the Happy Wanderers along with his wife, Bertha, and had many friends with his musical talents. His wife, Bertha, passed away on March 30, 2007, quite suddenly. They will both be missed by their many friends and family. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Ivan) Brown, North River; Debbie (Tim) Dartt, Truro; stepchildren, Jeanette (Chester) Shand, Shag Harbour; Rhoda (Wayne) Kelly, North West Harbour; Danny (Patty) Flemming, Upper Port Latour; Ralph(Brenda) Flemming, Cape Sable Island; sisters, Verna Myra, Lunenburg; Jean Clarke, First South; Grace Weiss, Riverport; nine stepgrandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Besides his wife, Bertha, he was predeceased by brother,Gordon Ritcey amd an infant brother and sister. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Owen's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment will be in Shepherd's Hill Cemetery, Riverport. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or Canadian Cancer Society.
