Douglas George Angus Clattenburg 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Douglas George Angus "Doug" Clattenburg, 73, Upper Cornwall, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Born in Kirkland Lake, he was the son of the late Angus Clattenburg and Luella Barton, Ontario. Doug joined the military at a young age and after 20 years of service, retired. After retirement, he spent the next 25 years as manager of CFB Curling Club in Halifax and retired in 1994. His entrepreneurship and hard work ethic never slowed as he was still working at his catering business "Stone in the House Catering" till the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doreen (Jefferies); sons, Danny (Frances), Donald (Diane), all of Dartmouth; daughter, Darlene, Ontario; grandchildren, Douglas, Annaleisa, Amanda, Brittany, Amanda, Michelle, Kristen and great-granddaughter, Hannah. Doug is also survived by sister, Margie; brothers, Harold, Ross, and Peter, all of Ontario. He was predeceased by daughter, Deborah. Doug's hard work only shadowed in the love of his family and especially his grandchildren. Doug will be greatly missed by all who knew, loved, and worked with him. Cremation has taken place and funeral arrrrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
