Gladys Remby 1978 Bridgewater Bulletin Gladys Remby of West Dublin, who has recently been living at 64 Helene Avenue, Dartmouth, passed away August 10, in the Camp Hill Hospital. She was born at West Dublin, March 13, 1891, the daughter of the late Captain Fred and Mary Ann (Sponagle) Remby. Miss Remby was predeceased by her sister, Nellie Benjamin of Brookfield, Colchester County, and is survived by her sister, Myrtle and nephew, Fred Lohnes, California; nephew, Fred Benjamin, Dartmouth; three nieces, Margaret, Gladys, and Mary; several grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was a member of the United Church in West Dublin and served several years as organist and choir member. Among her many interests were painting in oils and the writing of poetry. Over the years many of her poems have been printed in the Bridgewater Bulletin. The funeral was held on Monday, August 14 in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel with Rev. M. Carter officiating. Interment was in the Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin. Flowers were sent by the family, relatives, and N.I.P. staff, Dartmouth. Donations, in lieu of flowers, were sent to the United Church, West Dublin.
